Two types of Power Input Modules (PIM) can be used with the System Monitor. The PIM shown below
on the left is supplied when the Serial Interface option is specified. It includes the two additional 25-
pin serial connectors. The PIM on the right is the standard input module, Whenever the PIM is
referenced pictorially in this document, the figure shown is the Serial Interface option PIM. In all these
figures, the standard PIM may be substituted for the Serial Interface PIM. All connections to either
PIM are the same, only the style of the connectors have been altered.


Core Functions & Operational Capabilities
The 3300/01-01-00 System Monitor combines multiple critical functions to maintain machinery monitoring system integrity, including:
2.1 Power Supply Monitoring & Management
Dual Power Input Modules (PIM): Supports two PIM variants—one with 25-pin serial connectors (for Serial Interface option) and a standard PIM. Both share identical wiring; only connector styles differ.
Supply Voltage Verification: Features 7 internal LEDs (for +VRH, +VRL, +7.5V, +5V REF, -7.5V, -VT) and a front-panel "SUPPLIES OK" green LED to confirm all voltages are within operational range.
Power-Up Inhibit: Inhibits alarms for ~2 seconds after power-up (or when supply voltage drops below thresholds) to prevent false triggers during system initialization. External contact closure can also activate this function.
2.2 Keyphasor Signal Processing
Dual Keyphasor Inputs: Accepts signals from two Keyphasor transducers (via PIM terminals) and buffers them for use by 3300 series monitors. Buffered signals are also accessible via front-panel coaxial connectors (K01, K02).
Short-Circuit Protected Power: Provides regulated power to Keyphasor transducers, with voltage options (-18 VDC or -24 VDC) configurable via internal jumpers (W2). Tolerances:
-24 VDC option: -23.75 ± 0.45 VDC
-18 VDC option: -17.9 ± 0.4 VDC
2.3 Alarm & Control Logic
Trip Multiply: Activated via PIM contact closure, this function multiplies alarm setpoints by a preset factor (for monitors with the Trip Multiply option), indicated by a front-panel red LED.
OK Relay: A SPDT (Single-Pole Double-Throw) relay on the PIM indicates rack health—normally energized, deactivating only on power-up inhibit or a "not OK" signal from monitors.
Alarm Setpoint Adjust: Front-panel "upscale" and "downscale" switches fine-tune alarm thresholds for connected monitors.
2.4 System Reset & Diagnostics
Dual Reset Trigger: Reset via front-panel switch or external contact closure (PIM terminals) to clear faults or reinitialize the system.
Static Data Bus Buffering: Multiplexes signals from the Communications Processor to select static data (e.g., monitor readings) from connected modules, buffering outputs to prevent signal degradation.
