Eccentricity refers to the measurement of shaft bow at slow-roll speed, caused by fixed mechanical 

bow, temporary thermal bow, or temporary bow from sag/gravity (sometimes called gravity bow); the 

3300/40 Eccentricity Monitor enables on-line eccentricity monitoring to identify the amplitude of 

thermal or gravity rotor bow, suitable for nearly all rotating and reciprocating machinery as it 

continuously measures and monitors one eccentricity channel, while providing two types of 

eccentricity indication—direct eccentricity (instantaneous value) and peak-to-peak eccentricity 

(difference between positive and negative rotor bow extremes)—and additional information on Gap 

Voltage and Threshold Voltage (Keyphasor® trigger point).
