Overview

The A6370 Monitor is an integral component of the AMS 6300 SIS Overspeed Protection System,

designed to be mounted in a 19-inch rack (84HP width, 3RU height) and paired with the A6371

system backplane. A complete AMS 6300 SIS configuration comprises three A6370 protection

monitors and one A6371 backplane, forming a redundant, safety-focused assembly. The system is

compatible with multiple sensor technologies, including eddy-current sensors, Hall-effect sensors,

and magnetic (VR) sensors, ensuring versatile integration with diverse turbomachinery setups.

TÜV-certified for SIL 3 (per IEC 61508:2010) and compliant with API 670, European Machine

Directive 2006/42/EG, CE, ATEX, and IECEx standards, ensuring reliable protection for critical

rotating machinery.

Operates as part of the AMS 6300 SIS, forming a fault-tolerant 2oo3 (two-out-of-three) triplicated

system with three A6370 monitors and one A6371 backplane for maximum uptime.

Fast Response & Accurate Measurement

Delivers rapid overspeed detection with typical reaction times as low as 12.5ms (automatic mode at

3000 min⁻¹) and covers a 0–20kHz frequency range for diverse rotating equipment.

Rich I/O & Communication Options

Features 4 galvanically isolated digital inputs, 7 short-circuit-proof digital outputs, 2 isolated 4–

20mA analog outputs, and 3 pulse outputs; supports USB (configuration), RS-485 (up to 32

devices), and optional Profibus DP (up to 12 Mbit/s).
