Overview

The 16-Channel Output Relay Module is engineered for high reliability, specifically safeguarding a

plant’s most critical rotating machinery. As a 2-slot module, it integrates seamlessly with the CSI

6500 Machinery Health Monitor to form a complete API 670-compliant machinery protection

system. Key applications span steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, and hydro turbines—

covering the core rotating assets of industrial plants.

Configuration is flexible and user-centric: users can select any channel clear, alert, or alarm signal as

input, then customize protection logic by applying Boolean operations, setting time delays (0–30

seconds), and assigning 16 available output relays. The intuitive software features graphical logic

interfaces, guiding users through setup with visual prompts to simplify configuration and reduce

errors.

The CSI 6500 Machinery Health Monitor is a cornerstone of Emerson’s PlantWeb® digital

ecosystem and AMS Suite. PlantWeb® unifies machinery health data with Ovation® and DeltaV™

process control systems, enabling integrated operational oversight. AMS Suite further empowers

maintenance teams with advanced predictive and performance diagnostic tools, supporting early

and accurate detection of machine malfunctions to minimize downtime and protect critical assets.

systems. Redundant paths can be used simultaneously for enhanced stability.

Comprehensive Interface Options

Equipped with USB Type B port (12 Mbit/s) for configuration, RS-485 interface (512 kbit, max. cable

length 100m, 2V peak-to-peak) for serial communication, and SD card slot to support AMS 6500

ATG prediction functionality.

Self-Monitoring & Diagnostics

Integrated self-checking facilities monitor hardware status, power input, and hardware

temperature, ensuring proactive fault detection and reliable operation.

System Integration & Synchronization

Reads parameters from all AMS A6500 ATG modules and outputs data to control systems. Supports

SNTP time synchronization and provides 2000 freely assignable Modbus registers for flexible data

mapping.

Application Versatility

Part of the complete API 670-compliant machinery protection system, ideal for steam turbines, gas

turbines, compressors, and hydro turbines. Powers local graphical displays at the protection rack

for real-time machine and instrumentation readout.
