Honeywell ControlEdge HC900 Controller Overview
The Honeywell ControlEdge HC900 Controller is an advanced loop and logic controller featuring a
modular design tailored to meet the control and data management requirements of diverse process
equipment. When paired with the optional 900 Control Station operator interface—seamlessly
integrated with the controller’s database—configuration and setup time are significantly minimized.
This powerful combination, combined with Honeywell’s field-proven control technology, delivers an
ideal solution for process control applications. Equipped with open Ethernet connectivity via Modbus
TCP Protocol, the controller enables flexible network access using various HMI/SCADA software
platforms. Its program execution environment is safeguarded by an independent watchdog timer,
ensuring reliable operation.
The controller is supported by intuitive Windows-based Designer software, operable over Ethernet or
an isolated RS485 port, which streamlines configuration tasks. Available in English, Chinese, Russian,
and German, the software offers advanced monitoring capabilities for debugging, supports run-mode
process configuration changes without disrupting process control, uploads complete annotated
graphic controller configurations, and provides a suite of reports to enhance documentation. Beyond
superior PID loop control and robust analog processing—outperforming most logic controllers
without compromising logic performance—the HC900 features a dedicated fast scan cycle for
executing a comprehensive range of logic and calculation function blocks. For time-critical events,
logic blocks can also run in the same scan as analog function blocks, allowing full integration into
combined analog and logic control strategies to achieve uncompromising control performance.
