Overview
The 900B16-0001 is a 16-channel analog output module designed for Honeywell’s ControlEdge
HC900 Process Automation System. It delivers configurable 0–21.0 mA current outputs, optimized for
high-density industrial process control applications requiring reliable signal transmission to actuators,
valves, and other field devices. The module supports dual power sources, group isolation, and
advanced diagnostics, ensuring stable operation in harsh industrial environments and critical control
scenarios.
Core Functionality
●16 Configurable Output Channels: Offers 16 analog current outputs (0–21.0 mA), scalable to any
user-defined span per channel for flexible integration with diverse field devices.
●Group Isolation Design: Outputs are isolated in 4 groups of 4 (Channels 1–4, 5–8, 9–12, 13–16) with
500 V DC group-to-group isolation, and 500 V DC isolation from controller logic to prevent cross-
channel interference.
●Dual Power Options: Selectable power supply via DIP switch—internal 24 V DC from the rack
backplane or external 18–36 V DC loop power (default: external power).
●Advanced Diagnostics: Monitors factory calibration, field calibration, and configuration integrity;
provides output current verification feedback to the controller for real-time status tracking.
●Failsafe Capability: Supports user-specified failsafe values to ensure predictable output states if
communication with the controller is interrupted.
●Synchronous Updates: Outputs are updated in sync with the controller’s execution cycle,
eliminating data latency for time-critical control processes.
●Rate of Change Limiting: User-configurable rate limits for each output to prevent abrupt signal
fluctuations, protecting sensitive field equipment.
Compatibility & Installation Notes
●System Compatibility: Exclusively designed for Honeywell ControlEdge HC900 controllers,
compatible with all HC900 rack configurations (4-slot, 8-slot, 12-slot, including redundant power
racks).
●Rack Capacity: Maximum 2 modules per rack when using internal 24 V DC backplane power.
●Terminal Block & RTP: Requires 36-position Euro-style terminal block (900TCK-0001); compatible
with Remote Terminal Panel (RTP) 900RTS-0001 for simplified wiring and maintenance.
●Cable Compatibility: Uses pre-wired RTP cables (900RTC series) in lengths of 1.0, 2.5, or 5.0 meters.
●Installation Restriction: Cannot be installed adjacent to another 900B16 module; only one 900B16
module is allowed per adjacent slot.
