HIMA F3221 Digital Input Module

The HIMA F3221 is a CE-compliant 16-fold input module engineered for safety-critical industrial applications, featuring built-in safe isolation to ensure reliable signal acquisition from sensors or mechanical contacts. The HIMA F3221 is designed to interface with 24 V DC mechanical contacts or 1-signal sensors (drawing 8 mA current, including cable plug), making the HIMA F3221 suitable for use in automation, process control, and emergency shutdown systems—common in sectors like oil & gas, chemical processing, and manufacturing.

Key to its functionality, the HIMA F3221 offers 16 independent input channels with non-interacting (isolated) signal paths, preventing cross-talk between channels and enhancing signal integrity. The HIMA F3221 supports clear signal differentiation via switch positions: a dedicated switch sets channels for “0-signal” or “1-signal” detection, and a pushbutton enables manual “1-signal” testing for diagnostic purposes.

For wiring and integration, the HIMA F3221 uses a Z7116 front cable plug with standardized colour coding for each channel (e.g., white for Channel 1, brown for Channel 2), compatible with LiYY 16×0.25 mm² cables (750 mm length, 1 mm² cross-section for power, 0.5 mm² for signals). The HIMA F3221 has a compact 4 TE (Terminal Equipment units) footprint, enabling seamless rack-mounted integration. With a typical switching time of 10 ms, the HIMA F3221 ensures rapid signal response, while its dual power supply (5 V DC and 24 V DC) supports stable operation in industrial environments. Additionally, the HIMA F3221 includes a test plug (Z7116/3221) for simplified commissioning and fault troubleshooting, ensuring ease of maintenance and system reliability.
