The Bently Nevada 3300/55 Dual Velocity Monitor offers two channels for continuous on-line
machinery vibration monitoring. It accepts inputs directly from one or two Velomitor® transducers,
High Temperature Velomitor Systems (HTVS), or Velocity Seismoprobe® transducers—eliminating the
need for additional interface modules.
Flexibility is a core design feature of this Dual Velocity Monitor: numerous user-selectable options
(including high-pass and low-pass filter corner frequency settings) can be easily configured or
reconfigured in the field using plug-in jumpers.

Caution
When using housing measurements for overall machine protection, consideration must be given to
the measurement’s relevance to the specific application. Most common machine malfunctions—
such as imbalance or misalignment—originate at the rotor and cause an increase (or at minimum, a
change) in rotor vibration. For housing measurements alone to effectively support overall machine
protection, a significant portion of the rotor vibration must be accurately transmitted to the bearing
housing, machine casing, or more precisely, to the transducer’s mounting location.
Additionally, care is required during the physical installation of the transducer. Improper installation
can reduce the transducer’s amplitude and frequency response, and/or generate signals that do not
reflect the machine’s actual vibration.
Upon request, we offer engineering services to assess whether housing measurements are
appropriate for the specific machine in question, and/or to provide installation support.
