The 3300/45 Dual Differential Expansion Monitor is a key component of Bently Nevada’s Asset Condition Monitoring portfolio, designed to measure the axial position of a rotor relative to the machine casing (differential expansion) at a distance from the thrust bearing. It is critical for detecting axial clearances and thermal expansion changes in rotating machinery (e.g., turbines), enabling early fault prevention.

2. What is Differential Expansion?
Differential Expansion refers to the axial position of the rotor relative to the machine casing, typically measured via a proximity probe transducer mounted on the casing and observing an axial surface (e.g., rotor collar). Changes in axial position affect axial clearances and usually result from thermal expansion during startup/shutdown.
3. Core Functionalities
3.1 Monitoring Capabilities
Dual-Channel Monitoring: Provides continuous differential expansion measurement for two independent channels.
Magnitude & Direction Tracking: Monitors both the size and direction of differential expansion for each channel.
Configurable Alarms: Four alarm setpoints per channel (two "over" and two "under" alarms), with the option to turn off Channel B for single-location measurement needs.

Integrates into Turbine Supervisory Instrumentation systems, enabling comprehensive axial motion monitoring for turbines and other high-speed rotating equipment.
