Configuration & Performance Advantages
The 1C31222G01 relay module is configurable at the project level to feature 12 Form C (KUEP-style)
or 12 Form X (KUEP-style) relays, specifically engineered to switch high AC and DC voltages under
high-current load conditions for industrial control applications.
For Form C relay configurations, only one contact pair within each relay is accessible via the terminal
blocks for end-user wiring, streamlining connection while maintaining the module’s core switching
capabilities. A key benefit of the 1C31222G01’s KUEP-style relay bases is their superior electrical
handling capacity compared to the G2R-style bases used in the 1C31223G01 module—enabling the
switching of larger DC voltages and higher currents to support more demanding industrial load
requirements.
Description of the Ovation Series
The Ovation Distributed Control System delivers modulating control, sequential control, and data
acquisition capabilities for a diverse array of industrial system applications. It is constructed with a
configurable set of functional Input/Output (I/O) modules that communicate with the Ovation
Controller via the I/O bus. These I/O modules act as the critical interface between the Ovation
Controller and on-site industrial processes, featuring a plug-in design with built-in fault tolerance and
diagnostic functions. Capable of handling a wide spectrum of signal types and executing numerous
operational functions, Ovation I/O modules are secured within base units. These base units are
housed in Controller cabinets, mounted on DIN rails, and wired to the relevant field devices. Standard
modular components typically consist of an electronics module, a personality module, and a base unit
(with field terminations), while relay output modular components include an electronics module and a
base unit with field terminations. The system supports both local and remote I/O configurations,
offering advantages such as quick installation and configuration, DIN rail mounting of I/O base units,
labeled wiring schematics on modules, hot-swapping capabilities for streamlined maintenance, and
standardized diagnostic LED indicators for status monitoring. With scalable capacity—up to 128 local
and 1024 remote Ovation module units per Controller—the Ovation series ensures robust, flexible,
and reliable control for industrial operations.
